Allen Fong
A leading Hong Kong director who made his mark in TV before joining the leftist Feng Huang Motion Picture Company, Fong made his feature debut with "Father and Son" (1981), a refreshing, autobiographical tale of a young would-be director who returns from the US with a film degree, but whose father sees a different future for him. Subsequently, he has directed "Just Like Weather" and "Working Title" (both 1986) and "Dancing Bull" (1990). As an actor, Fong has appeared briefly in Wayne Wang's "Life Is Cheap . . . But Toilet Paper Is Expensive" (1989), "Devil's Box" (1994) and "Summer Snow" (1995).
