Archie Moore
Archie Moore has built an incredible presence on the big screen throughout his acting career. Moore's earliest roles were in film, including the Tony Randall adaptation "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" (1960), the dramatic adaptation "The Carpetbaggers" (1964) with George Peppard and "The Hanged Man" (1964). He also appeared in the dramatic comedy "The Fortune Cookie" (1966) with Jack Lemmon. His passion for acting continued to his roles in projects like "The Outfit" (1973) with Robert Duvall and the western "Breakheart Pass" (1975) with Charles Bronson. He also starred in the TV movies "My Sweet Charlie" (NBC, 1969-1970) and "Cutter" (NBC, 1971-72). He held additional roles in television including a part on "NBC Saturday Sports Showcase" (NBC, 1989-1990). Additionally, he could be seen on a variety of television specials like "Black Champions" (PBS, 1985-86) and "Muhammad Ali's 50th Birthday Celebration" (ABC, 1991-92). Moore more recently worked on "The Great Ones: The National Sports Awards" (NBC, 1992-93). Moore passed away in December 1998 at the age of 85.
