Bert Sprotte's acting talents were showcased on the big screen many times throughout the course of his Hollywood career. Sprotte began his acting career in film, appearing in such titles as "Selfish Yates" (1918), "Breed of Men" (1919) and "Bob Hampton of Placer" (1921). He also appeared in "O'Malley of the Mounted" (1921) with William S Hart and "Trailin'" (1921) with Tom Mix. He continued to work steadily in film throughout the twenties, appearing in the western "For Big Stakes" (1922) with Tom Mix, "The Fighting Streak" (1922) and "Wild Bill Hickok" (1923). He also appeared in "The Human Tornado" (1925) and "The Fighting Hombre" (1927). In the latter half of his career, he continued to act in "The Private Life of Helen of Troy" (1927), "The Stolen Bride" (1927) and "Pass the Gravy" (1928). He also appeared in the J Harold Murray adaptation "Married in Hollywood" (1929) and the Leslie Howard drama "Captured" (1933). Sprotte last acted in the historical love story "The Pursuit of Happiness" (1934) with Francis Lederer. Sprotte passed away in December 1949 at the age of 79.
