David Frazee is a Canadian cinematographer and director best known for his work on "Da Vinci's Inquest" and "Intelligence." Frazee began his long-term working relationship with creator Chris Haddock in 1998 on "Da Vinci's Inquest," a TV series centered on Dominic Da Vinci, a former undercover officer who now solves crimes as a coroner. The show--in story, character, and visuals provided by Frazee--was dominated throughout by a somber tone. This was true also of the short-lived spin-off, "Da Vinci's City Hall," about the protagonist's experiences as the mayor of Vancouver. Frazee collaborated with Haddock again on the series "Intelligence," also based in Vancouver, but this time focusing more on the perspective of the criminal element, specifically crime syndicate boss Jimmy Reardon (played by Ian Tracey, who also migrated from "Da Vinci's Inquest"). Though he has amassed his largest body of work as a director of photography, David Frazee has also held the reins of director, having directed episodes of Haddock's shows as well as the series "Flashpoint," a thrilling depiction of an elite police squad called in to deal with extraordinary situations such as bombs and hostage crises.
