Ford Sterling was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Sterling's earliest roles were in film, including the anthology "Hollywood" (1923) with Hope Drown, "He Who Gets Slapped" (1924) and "Wild Oranges" (1924). He also appeared in "Good and Naughty" (1926) and "The American Venus" (1926). He kept working in film throughout the twenties, starring in "The Show-Off" (1926), "Casey at the Bat" (1927) and "For the Love of Mike" (1927). He also appeared in the comedy "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" (1928) with Ruth Taylor and "Oh, Kay!" (1928). In the latter part of his career, he continued to act in the adaptation "Sally" (1930) with Marilyn Miller, the drama "Showgirl in Hollywood" (1930) with Alice White and the fantasy "Alice in Wonderland" (1933) with Charlotte Henry. He also appeared in "Behind the Green Lights" (1935). Sterling last acted in "The Headline Woman" (1935). Sterling passed away in October 1939 at the age of 56.
