Henry Oscar
Henry Oscar was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Oscar began his acting career appearing in various films, such as "Red Ensign" (1934) with Leslie Banks, the Leslie Banks thriller "The Man Who Knew Too Much" (1934) and the dramatic period piece "Fire Over England" (1936) with Flora Robson. He also appeared in "Love in Exile" (1936) and "Dark Journey" (1937). His film career continued throughout the thirties and the fifties in productions like the mystery "The Saint in London" (1939) with George Sanders, "The Black Rose" (1950) with Tyrone Power and "Beau Brummell" (1954) with Stewart Granger. He also appeared in the comedy "Private's Progress" (1956) with Richard Attenborough and the Ava Gardner comedy adaptation "The Little Hut" (1957). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the Robert Morley dramatic adaptation "Oscar Wilde" (1960), the Peter Cushing horror film "The Brides of Dracula" (1960) and the Peter O'Toole dramatic adaptation "Lawrence of Arabia" (1962). He also appeared in the adaptation "The Long Ships" (1964) with Richard Widmark. Oscar more recently acted in the Vincent Price adaptation "War Gods of the Deep" (1965). Oscar passed away in December 1969 at the age of 78.
