Jade Jackson
Born and raised in the small town of Santa Margarita, Calif., Jade Jackson is a singer and songwriter with a unique, thoughtful perspective. She grew up in a house without television or the Internet, and as a result often found herself turning to her father's extensive record collection for entertainment and inspiration. She began writing her own songs at the age of 13, and played her first live show at 14, at a local coffeehouse. One of those shows was attended by Mike Ness's wife and son, and they mentioned her talent to the famed Social Distortion headliner, who reached out to her as a mentor. In addition to Ness, Jackson was able to form a strong local fanbase, and she continued to write and perform throughout her teen years and into her young adulthood. Ness would eventually produce her debut album, "Gilded," which was released in 2017 on the Anti- record label. With a diverse set of influences ranging from The Cure and Echo & the Bunnymen to classic country artists like Hank Williams and Emmylou Harris, Jackson's own sound has proven to be evocative and atmospheric, with a sound that evokes rockabilly and country as well as folk and rock. Her songs include "Aden" and "Motorcycle," and she has shared stages with artists such as Dwight Yoakam and Merle Haggard.
