Writer-director Mathias Dinter made his first films--"49," "Santa Claws," and "Skin Trade"--together with his brothers Jan and Stefan. After screening these at various German film festivals, Dinter went on to study filmmaking at the Ludwigsburg Film Academy and forged his way into the mainstream. The main focus of Dinter's career has been screenwriting, having produced work for numerous film and television projects, including seven episodes of the popular German comedy series "Sex & More." His first feature-length project, the science-fiction film "Marianengraben," was released in 1994. Dinter has also forayed into the world of directing; such efforts include "Feuer, Eis, & Dosenbier," a comedy about two draft-dodging friends who escape to the Austrian Alps, and the 2004 horror comedy "Night of the Living Dorks," in which three nerds come back from the dead. For both films, Dinter also wrote the screenplay. Though he hasn't made films with his brothers since those early days, Dinter still collaborates with them on other creative projects; the trio has published several comic books together, including "A Home for Aliens" in 1998 and "Kombat Babes" in 2000.
