Cinematographer Michael Gershman got his start as a camera operator on the Eddie Murphy vehicle "The Golden Child" in 1986, and he went on to be camera operator for "Nuts," a courtroom drama starring Barbra Streisand and Richard Dreyfuss; "Punchline," featuring Tom Hanks and Sally Field as stand-up comics; and the affecting teen romance "Say Anything..." with John Cusack. As camera operator, Gershman moved in a more adventurous direction with the action-packed "Die Hard 2" with Bruce Willis, and he also worked on the Michael Douglas midlife crisis flick"Falling Down" and the Jessica Lange domestic drama "Losing Isaiah." But Gershman's biggest opportunities have been for television, where he worked first on the series "Courthouse" in 1995, and then came into his own as cinematographer on the cult series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" with Sarah Michelle Gellar. Gershman also directed several episodes of "Buffy," and he subsequently brought his camera and directing skills to the medical examiner series "Crossing Jordan."
