Sylvain Archambault was a Canadian director and producer whose works included the television sitcom "Bob Gratton, ma vie, My Life" (TQS 2007-09) and the film "La Garde" (2014). His first directorial breakthrough was directing the sport series "Le 7e round" (Radio-Canada 2006), which starred Sébastien Delorme as Karl Tozzi, a boxer who aspired to become a world champion. Archambault continued to work on television programs over the next few years, including directing 17 episodes of the Canadian police series "Le négociateur" (VAT 2005-08). Archambault also had the opportunity to work with noted Canadian comic Julien Poulin and his popular character Elvis Gratton on the popular sitcom "Bob Gratton: Ma Vie, My Life." Archambault made his feature film directorial debut with 2009's sports flick "Pour toujours... Les Canadiens!" His next film, "Piché: entre ciel et terre" (2010), earned Archambault recognition as a premier Canadian director. The film earned a couple of nominations from the prestigious Canadian Genie Awards and Archambault himself won the Golden Ticket at the 2011 Jutra Awards. In 2014, Archambault directed a film that tackled the controversial issue of Quebec's parental custody laws with "La Garde" ("The Guard"), which starred Paul Doucet as Luc, a father who lost custody of his son Sam, played by Antoine L'Écuyer.
