Udo Schenk

Perhaps best known as the German dubbing voice of English-speaking actors such as Ralph Fiennes, Gary Oldman, and Kevin Bacon, Udo Schenk is a respected actor in his own right in his native Germany. Born in Wittenberg, Schenk studied drama in Leipzig before performing for several years at the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin. During the late 1970s and '80s, he added to his stage work many small roles in German television and cinema, 1975's "Im Schlaraffenland" and "Das Märchen vom Soldaten und der Schlange" being among his earliest credits. In 1985, Schenk began dubbing the voices of other popular actors in German, and soon became recognized to German-speaking audiences as the voice of Weyoun in "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine," Ray Liotta in "Goodfellas," and Kevin Bacon in "Mystic River," among many others. During the 1990s and 2000s, the actor racked up dozens of on-screen credits in addition to his behind-the-scenes voice work. Guest appearances on the popular series "Balko,""Wolff's Turf," and "Donna Leon" showcased Schenk's on-camera talent, while lending his vocal talents to "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" and "The Dark Knight" helped cement his status as one of Germany's top voiceover actors. Schenk also played Adolf Hitler in the 2004 television drama "Operation Valkyrie," and has since reprised the role a further three times. He is married to actress Marina Krogull.
