Kevin Thomas Los Angeles Times It's easy -- and best -- to yield to [director] Menkes' powerfully seductive vision, which invites viewers to make intuitive connections. Audience Member Menkes is a phenomenal director. Beautifully shot on wonderful stocks. Poetry. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member the whole film is so disturbing~ and the best scene is the scene from the movie poster! lasted about 10 sec. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member a weird experience: a movie almost completely without a point, an when a point occured, it wasn'teven a good one. but although, this was a fascinating experience. this movie, visually and auditively stunning as it was, felt like a room in which my thoughts were free to walk around for 90 minutes. actually, they went to a few very inspired places, but i'm not sure about the involvement of the movie in this development... Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member All I could think while watching this film (besides wanting to sleep or leave, as the people sitting next to us did) was that it was terribly jejune. Not really worth my time. She did do a good job creating an atmosphere of claustrophobia though. That is the only redeeming thing I can say. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member one of the most pretentious and empty movies ever made. i couldn't decide whether it was serious or if it was to be taken as a long boring joke. guess it was indeed the first option, because it turned out to be ridiculous and proper unfunny. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member David Lynch meets Alain Resnais was the festival billing...what we got instead was an hour and a half of real head scratching strangeness. Never seen so many people walk out of a cinema before. I was actually quite captivated for about 5 minutes, after 45 minutes I gave up trying to work out what it was all about...I'm still trying to now. Hey maybe the Resnais comparisons aint too far off! Maybe I need to watch this again. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Read all reviews
