Red Ball B The movie had no focus and it was all over the place…. Nudity wasn't call for. The movie had good bones but like context. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/03/23 Full Review dave j Co-produced, written and directed by Timothy Linh Bui with multiple characters conversing with one another with the movie opening with Jack (Ray Liotta) going into the sea in a beach some place. Then the movie jumps to the month of December showcasing more characters of Charlie (Forest Whitaker) attempting to pay someone to take his life offering that person to pull the trigger for all of his life savings of 50 thousand dollars. A stripper, Rose-Johnny (Jessica Biel) wiho has a son at the hospital, struggling funeral operator introvert Qwerty Doolittle (Eddie Redmayne) who does puppetry on the side. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Ouch. What an embarrassing clunker. You got the coming message from a mile away. It's basically a Crash rip-off, with a bunch of damaged people circling around a strip club. Even if Crash had never come along, this would still be an embarrassment and a total waste of acting talent. I don't know what possessed these gifted actors to take on these roles, but it must have been a decent paycheck. Also, back when this film was made, it was easier to believe you could make a bad film and it would get buried and never seen again. However, in the age of Netflix and Prime, these movies are in front of audiences again, much to the horror of all involved, I'm sure. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review lin m I think the director wanted to have a film with alot of nudity. Then came the story. More work should have been spent creating a better story. The film went from intriguing to boring. Despite an A-list of actors, the film kinda bombed. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Un film tout en nuances comme une peinture impressionniste. Les acteurs sont tous excellents, les ambiances parfaites. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review ari s This film isn't as bad as critics are saying it is. Forrest is great as always feeling guilt, despair longing for death. Rays trying to connect with his daughter and grandson before he goes. Jessica I thought was better than expected she had to express several emotions while trying to just keep her head above water. Highlight was Redmayne he has this unique ability to be so incredibly vulnerable without speaking the camera just gravitates to him. Overall a poor mans crash but the effort and experiences happened. It's not something that will stick with you but it's memorable enough to give due credit. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Melissa Anderson Variety Another Los Angeles-set multistrand drama "Crash"-es and burns. May 12, 2009 Full Review Vadim Rizov Village Voice A movie full of egregiously overdramatic stupidities. May 5, 2009 Full Review Andrew L. Urban Urban Cinefile Patrick Swayze's final feature film role as Wild Velvet strip club boss Velvet Larry is a flamboyant extravaganza Nov 28, 2009 Full Review Kam Williams Sly Fox A serendipitous erotic thriller reminiscent of Crash in the way that lots of Angelenos' lives intersect serendipitously, except that here the characters have a seedy strip club in common instead of car accidents. Rated: 2/4 Jun 8, 2009 Full Review Peter Sobczynski eFilmCritic.com They seem to be real and they are certainly spectacular--too bad that one can't say the same for the film featuring them. May 14, 2009 Full Review Jason McKiernan Filmcritic.com an embarrassing display of directorial exploitation and a waste of acting goodwill. Rated: 1/5 May 12, 2009 Full Review Read all reviews
