The YA book adaptation hesitates with mature topics despite going full "Odyssey" Go to Full Review

Season Two begins in roughly the same place, but shows enough growth as it moves along to give me some optimism that Riordan and everyone else are starting to figure out how to translate what's worked so well in print to the small screen. Go to Full Review

In a darker Season 2, which boasts much higher stakes for the trio, Rick Riordan’s expansive world is only getting juicier and more robust. Go to Full Review

S02 is an improvement on the film in every way, including the depth of characterization for the central trio, the great depiction of Tyson, and a fantastic episode featuring Circe. If only Mr. D and Tantalus weren't here Go to Full Review

Where there was once a lighter approach, now there's a restrained violence that fits with the narrative evolution of the book series. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Paul L. @pauly87 2d Has a slow start but it builds up, I feel like season 3 is going to be the best because it's where the movie left off and I can finally get a conclusion because I'm too lazy to read the book. See more Liam D @LiamD1010 2d So excited for season 3, thought they did a great job depicting the books into real life. Can’t wait to see what the future has in store for these characters once again! Great show! See more Jackson M. @Nshvlleindie 4d This would be a 5 star show if the episodes werent so short. The scale and storylines are beautifully epic, but there’s only 30-35 minutes of screen time which makes each episode feel like there’s impending doom for the lengthy credit sequences. See more Caroline Z @HammyLikesMovies 5d I’m really disappointed with the second season. The changes from page to screen felt too drastic, and many of them didn’t make sense for the continuation of the story. What frustrated me most was how Percy was portrayed. In the books, he’s fun, kind, and relatable. He doesn’t take himself too seriously and often allows other characters to step into the spotlight — like Clarisse in the Golden Fleece arc. In the series, however, he feels much more serious and constantly at the center of attention. He doesn’t feel like the Percy I grew up with. The added fight around Thalia’s tree also felt unnecessary and more like filler than meaningful development. I would have preferred to see that time spent on lighter, more memorable moments from the book — like the Party Ponies or the lava dishwashing scene — which helped balance the story’s tone. Overall, this season lost some of the charm and humor that made the books so special. See more Tyler W @TJWanerka Feb 17 The show starts slow and gets worse as the season goes. The action is flat, the actors feel like cardboard, and if you're a fan of the books, forget about watching it all together. Major plot lines are either removed or severely changed. The CGI is terrible because Disney won't give the show the budget to properly showcase it, so even if season 3 is successful, expect the CG reliant seasons 4 and 5 to be awful as well.. Rick Riordan and Disney promised a faithful adaptation of one of the bestselling young adults series of all time, and failed to deliver yet again. See more Noah S. @Noah2002 Feb 16 Disney cooked here. I was indifferent when I first started, but now I am invested in the Olympians again the way I was back in middle school (in grade school now). What a delight! See more Read all reviews
