Isa love how it talked about such serious topics in the chicano community. it was such a good movie and it showed both point of views of the OGs who are stuck in their older ways and it's hard for them to come in clutch, OGs who are more open to progressive ideas, young chicanos who are also stuck with older mentality's given to them by the older generations and young chicanos who are more progressive. i love all the topics that were brought up perfectly for it not to seem unrealistic and showed how it really is coming out in a mexican family and community. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/13/22 Full Review Audience Member Great movie about the difficulties Latinos face with accepting LGBT relatives. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Nice to see a movie representing the Chicano Gay community. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Good acting, ok plot, and great storyline. The beauty of the movie, besides the nearly flawless acting, was the hundreds of individual issues taken across the entire storyline. It raised a lot of questions and gave some decent potential answers, most without words. It carried the watcher through this with soft landings on hard topics. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Beautiful : Authentically visually captures San Francisco, Not the tourist San Franciso of Vertigo, but the places where people live: and the Mission District in all its charming funkiness, the vista from Potrero Hill. A beautiful heartfelt fairytale. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Benjamin Bratt really brings his all in this movie. It was a pretty intense movie but in the end, well, you need to watch. :) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Brian Tallerico Movie Retriever A well-intentioned film that nonetheless falls head first into the kind of surface-level clichs and stereotypes that are usually reserved for basic cable TV movies. Jul 9, 2010 Full Review Scott Tobias AV Club La Mission feels more like Sundance fodder from 20 or 25 years ago than something with much relevance today. Rated: D+ Jul 8, 2010 Full Review Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times I don't require acceptance and reconciliation, and La Mission is forthright in avoiding easy answers. But does the screenplay shortchange Che by painting him more broadly at the film's end than he seemed at the beginning? Rated: 2.5/4 Jul 8, 2010 Full Review Robert Roten Laramie Movie Scope Looks and sounds great with beautiful low-rider cars, colorful location shots and a unique musical score composed by South African musician Mark Kilian ("Rendition"), along with some classic golden oldies on the soundtrack.
