Richard Corliss New Times (magazine) For most of its lo-o-ong 80 minutes the movie goes off in all directions -- and never gets anywhere. Jun 22, 2022 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins It's campy, pornographic, and wallowing in a sea of carnality, but effective in its mission of unrefined eroticism and gung ho extravagance. delysid d It does have a scene where Hitler takes it up the butt, besides that i didnt really think it was funny, im not much of a sexploitation fan i guess Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/11/18 Full Review Audience Member This is another one of Russ Myers better movies. The story is set in a small town in the Pacific Northwest. Somehow there is a German castle in the middle of the Pacific Northwest Mountains with a character named "A. Schwartz" who looks a lot like Hitler. He gets murdered and the rest of the movie is a "who done" it with additional murders and nude women and rapist to add to the "clues". It's more of a comedy with a lot of nude women. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Eberts ridiculous dialogue kind of ruins the film by giving the impression of so much more being at stake, even after the audience stopped caring at the 20-minute mark. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member "Up!" (1976) is a Russ Meyer film which is a way over the top sex and violence comedy, some scenes of which classifies as soft core porn. (medium core even). It's brilliant and appalling at the same time and so entertaining and idiosyncratic. It sets out to be as offensive as possible, and revels in it's ridiculousness. Raven De La Croix has her first starring role as Margo Winchester, Kitten Natividad plays a naked Greek chorus (with a dubbed voice), Robert Maclane plays Paul, Janet Wood plays the kooky Alice, Edward Schaaf plays Adolf Schwarz/Hitler who is the first murder victim whose murder loosely forms the centre of the film's plot. Porn star Candy Samples has a part. The film opens with Schwarz / Hitler in a bondage group sex scene at the end of which he pays Paul to screw him and let him perform sex acts on him...this is intercut with a lesbian sex scene involving sweet lil Alice and Gwendoline. There's some great set piece scenes and great dialogue although a little bit of the dialogue is recycled from previous Meyer films. The sexual politics of "Up!" is mostly awful although most of the female characters get to be strong for most of their scenes (if not all) and Raven De La Croix's character wins out in the end, and the Men are basically ridiculous so perhaps it's not as bad underneath as it appears on the surface. Some of the violence is extreme too but is also done in a ridiculous over the top way which is also really funny. I really enjoyed this movie except for a couple of scenes that I wish had been done differently. Cool interviews with Raven De La Croix and Kitten Natividad tacked on to the DVD as special features Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member One of Russ Meyer's classic films! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member "Hmm, Rosebud! I'll get to the bottom of this yet!" Vitrine surrealista de um Meyer completamente descontrolado e insano. Em termos contemporâneos, Meyer aqui, estava sem freio! Se Supervixens foi a soma de todos os seus outros filmes e a explosão de seu estilo. Up! é uma exploração total desses parâmetros recém-ampliado! Uma cinematografia e montagem estonteante. Com cortes rápidos e ritmados, Meyer nos da um grande espetáculo visual e um dos melhores "exploitation films / softcore" já feitos. SICK! No fairy tale... this!
