      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Angelina Jolie gives it her all in the title role, and her seasoned performance is almost enough to save Salt from its predictable and ludicrous plot.

Chase C. S Absolute garbage. The individual actors did their best under the circumstances, but terrible script, plot, and action pieces. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/24 Full Review Haikewl This movie was so bad i almost fell asleep halfway through the movie. My friend recommended me the movie, last time I ever listen to one of his recommendations. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/12/24 Full Review Kholofelo K Angelina Jolie is simply the baddest Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/18/23 Full Review Evan T This movie was awesome. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/05/23 Full Review Connor A This is an OK film. Angelina Jolie and Chiwetel Ejiofor give good performances, the rest of the cast feels weak imo. The plot is decent and there are quite a few twists that keep it interesting, however they are predictable. Overall, Salt is an average action film that will keep you mildly entertained but it doesn't do anything new or exciting to be memorable. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 10/06/23 Full Review Suprateek A I watched Angelina Jolie as Evelyn Salt , why did I watch it? Angelina Jolie , yes Im a simp. So Salt, oh boy where do I begin! I will firstly point out the positives. The cinematography was pretty smooth, the stunts during the first 40 minutes were pretty terrifying. Moving on Angelina Jolie, oh lord! she looked so hot in the movie but I was disheartened by how she didn't have a lot to give to her character. Im glad the film was only 100 minutes long because if it wasn't it would've been unbearable. Moving on to the issues that I had with this film..so basically I just wanted to have fun and have a satisfying experience, but it was only the first 40 minutes that did that for me. As I was done with the film I was left really unsatisfied. After the so called twist I was really tired with the film, the director held the suspense in the beginning well but later it just got exhausting because the protagonist's motive was weird and it felt like they just wanted to make a film with Angelina Jolie just because they liked her. I wasn't rooting for her anymore after the twist and the director forces us to root for her but it just doesn't work. The same goes for the husband's character I couldn't care less about that man, I didn't care about his safety and felt bad for the actor because he could've done something more worth while instead of making this film. This film had alot of potential but instead just turned into a snooze fest for me and was really disappointed. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 09/01/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Ange Anderson Bitch Media Director Phillip Noyce... keeps things moving with an engaging lead, well-timed action sequences, smart dialogue and characters whose motivations are well defined. Dec 30, 2020 Full Review Caryn James Newsday In the great tradition of summer popcorn hits, Angelina Jolie's action-spy thriller Salt is stupid but fun. Feb 7, 2018 Full Review Dwight Brown National Newspaper Publishers Association Though the film and the script may have flaws, Jolie has none. Dec 27, 2010 Full Review Ezequiel Boetti EscribiendoCine Salt is to action movies what the Twilight trilogy and its sexual, anti-hemoglobin puritanism is to vampire stories. This ideological vehicle also has... a trite and well-known story, but narrated with solvency and agility. But when the apparent potential for a clever spy thriller is passed up for a simple adrenaline rush, the result is a disappointment.
