After winning a prize, two brothers from a small Welsh town, David "Dai" Jones (Donald Houston) and Thomas "Twm" Jones (Meredith Edwards), make their first excursion into London to see a rugby match. Once they arrive in the big city, however, David and Thomas miss their contact, Whimple (Alec Guinness), and get separated. While David falls into the scheming hands of a con artist named Jo (Moira Lister), Thomas visits an array of pubs, making for a lively urban outing.
