Chris M When you see the title ALIEN DEAD, what would you expect? Logically you would expect some kind of alien zombies, a twist on the zombie sub genre. But nope, just regular zombies and a small army of them from a tiny bog. Movie never explained how a meteor created zombie, I can guess space radiation but the movie never said it so it doesn't count. Going back to the alarming number of dead people in a lake. Either this small town has a huge crime rate. Sheriff Kowalski is incredibly incompetent, crooked or 72 was way too old to be a good sheriff. The zombie effects are basic. But this movie needed more money than 12 grand. Even in 1980 that was next to nothing. Fred Olen Ray made dumb fun, this was just dumb. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/26/23 Full Review Audience Member A 80s movie that gets right to what we all want... Alien zombies! A reporter is trying to get the story about Gators in the Florida swamps. That whole thing just gets the reporter sniffing around a good looking girl that is barely clothed and that's before the real fun begins. Through the whole movie they talk about man eating Gators but for some reason everyone loves swimming in the water there. Lucky for the zombies because of course being aliens they love killing people in ponds. Makes sense right? Bad acting, terrible writing, make up that makes you question if this is a werewolf movie or a zombie movie, naked boobs, and a ending that makes you go "what?"... This is 70/80s sci fi greatness. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member By far one of the worst zombie movies ever made. There is no storyline or plot, it is poorly acted, badly costumed, and abruptly concludes without resolving anything. There are no aliens, just poorly manufactured zombies who regularly forget what they are supposed to be doing. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Fred Olen Ray's first film is easily one of the worst movies ever made. Awful acting and terrible effects that a high school play could of done better. Asteroid falls on a boat and turns the crash victims into zombies. There never is a build of a zombie invasion and the film sort of just ends without a real conclusion. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member A meteor falls from space on a house boat during a party turning those aboard into living dead. A series of suspicious murders around the Lone Elm swamp occur before the truth is discovered. Very early work from Fred Olen Ray, who would become one of the most prolific directors around. Decent story but hampered by budgetary constraints. A few zombies have very unconvincing make up but Ray obviously made up the most of what he had to work with. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Why was this amateur garbage was put on DVD? Acting is horrid, story is lame, scenes are cut mid-sentence, & southern accents are laughable. I watched 3 deaths, none of which even included any attempt at fake blood. The 2nd a 'zombie' just hit a lady in the head & she fell to her death. DO NOT WATCH THIS TRASH! 20 minutes was too much for me. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Read all reviews
