Audience Member Very Natural. Highly recommended if U want to know Chinese Culture in a movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Tame story employing both culture clash and coming of age themes. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Kind of silly, occasionally funny, with some bad, over-acting at times. David was a pretty unconvincing drunk. I can't imagine parents sending someone like him--alone-- overseas to save the family business, an extremely important task. Mei was cute but her English was hard to understand at times. The fact that there wasn't a subtitles option on this didn't help the matter. At least it has a gorgeous setting. There aren't too many American movies set in China (as much as I love them, the Rush Hour series doesn't count.) Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member An actually nice movie that i first thought would be aimless and no point to it however i was surprisingly wrong in a happy way. It really shows East West unity and how things although may get lost in translation but they learn to communicate and understand each other :) Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member This was most definitely a low budget independent flick but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. Worth the couple hours for sure. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Just terrible. The story had such promise: a bored twenty-something goes to China to learn the family business and falls in love and grows up in the process. The chinese backdrop for the movie is beautiful. The acting is so bad it's barely tolerable and I'm referring directly to the English-speaking cast. Worth only a rental and only if horrible acting doesn't bother you.
