laura b For those who lived in Colombia in November 13th 1985, this movie is a must see. I remember the ashes that covered my city that day, I used to live in a small city on the North of the country, hundreds of kilometers from Armero, and we could see how the wind moved ashes to everywhere. We knew something had happened, that was not normal. The news had been talking about the imminent eruption of the volcano, Little we knew about the tragedy till the tv news started showing images. We followed the story of Omaira, the 13 year-old girl who was trapped from her waist down and died three days after she was found. Tons of mud and rocks trapped her and her rescue was impossible. Her messages through the news where heart breaking. It is not ramdom that the name of the main female character of this movie was Omaira. it is not the same person, but it is a way, I think, that the writer of this story is somehow helping us overcome that tragedy, in a story where Omaira had a future. Rated 5/5 Stars •  Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review johann m Basada en la tragedia de Armero, la ciudad colombiana que desapareció tras una avalancha producida por la erupción del Nevado del Ruiz, esta película explora la perspectiva de lo que vivió la verdadera Omaira Medina, una estilista que tiene muy pocas probabilidades de ser madre y su esposo, un mecánico y recolector de algodón. A pesar de que el presupuesto no se compara al de una película hollywoodense y los efectos visuales pueden resultar un poco extraños, el enfoque de la historia es errado y distrae al espectador.
