BAPHOMET tells the tale of an American family (The Richardsons) celebrating their daughter's pregnancy, but things begin to go awry when Satanic cult leader, Henrik Brandr unexpectedly visits their ranch. Henrik offers to pay the family a large sum for ownership of their land, claiming it is sacred to his congregation. Jacob Richardson, the father, rejects the offer due to the sentimental value of his ranch. Henrik, displeased, begins to put curses on the Richardsons, trying to force them off their own land -- even if it means murdering them. After suffering unexplainable tragedies created by the curses, the Richardsons seek help from Marybeth, a white witch high priestess. They soon discover a terrible secret about their house, revealing why their land is so scared to the cult. They realize that they must protect their house from the cult at all costs, and a violent battle between good and evil ensues.

The film is often let down by pretty poor writing, and a small role from Dani Filth, who appears to be unsure if he can remember his lines at any given moment. Go to Full Review

Baphomet won't win any awards for originality or skill, but for fans of indie movies, it's a decent enough satanic shocker that delivers what it promises... eventually. Go to Full Review

I got a mild kick out of it because the acting was so stiff. Go to Full Review

A movie does not have to be traditionally good to be entertaining. This horror movie barely makes any sense, but some amazing performances makes this a must watch. Go to Full Review

It a decent film with a pretty good soundtrack, it almost feels like a 90s horror film at times and the blu release definitely feels that way. Go to Full Review

Oliver P 07/17/2024 I really enjoyed this one . Great storytelling, never boring , convincing acting and some nice gore effects . Very entertaining indie film ! See more 04/01/2022 The worst acting I think I have ever seen. See more 01/30/2022 The Richardson family have a home that a Satanic cult wants. When real estate offers don't work, leader Henrik Brnadr (Giovanni Lombardo Radice, House on the Edge of the Park, Stagefright, Cannibal Ferox and the reason I watched this movie) decrees that his followers make the lives of our protagonists difficult. So difficult, in fact, that they have to turn to magic. And to researcher Lon Carlson, who is played by Cradle of Filth's Dani Filth via Facetime. You know how some movies are full of talking and nothing happens? This is not one of those movies, instead packing 72 minutes with dead birds, snakes, cursed wells, demons, naked women being sacrificed and no small amount of gore. And you know what? It's ridiculous in the best of ways, a movie that promises a demon on the cover, delivers a demon and also gifts you with the heads of occultists getting blown up real good. Sometimes, that's all you need. See more 06/15/2021 This movie is completely unpredictable (it has everything from demon scenes to a shark attack) and is just wild fun, like a horror movie version of a rollercoaster. I thought the cinematography, musical score, and special effects were above average for an independent horror flick of this kind. Plus it has lots of familiar "genre icons" acting in it too, like Giovanni Lombardo Radice (AKA John Morghen), Nick Principe, and even the Cradle of Filth singer Dani Filth! See more Read all reviews
