Tim Brayton Alternate Ending One has to admire the film's cheerful commitment to being itself. Rated: 3/5 Jun 13, 2022 Full Review Anton Bitel Eye for Film Belial is settling down and growing up - but unfortunately his domestication is also the film's. For all the creature effects and gore on offer here - not to mention bad acting and risible dialogue - Basket Case 2 feels cosily tame. Oct 22, 2012 Full Review Felix Vasquez Jr. Cinema Crazed Another installment from Henenlotter that fails to competently tell a story. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 04/04/24 Full Review thom g The philosophical potential of the film is undermined by its overly grotesque aspects. This could have been okay if it were completely assumed, but the film seems to be trying to convey some critical messages while portraying a very ridiculous portrait of marginalized monster-like humans (unlike the first Basket Case, which maintained a balance between the crude and campy aspects and the deeper themes). Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review justin t This film is utter madness. It takes the first film to the ultimate next level. It is just lots of freaks and some pretty grotty moments of hellish violence. It is twisted film making dying to shock you with the sicker side of our body pretending that it is enlightening us. I loved every second without a moment of introspective boredom. Utterly nuts and tacky, but that is why we love it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review ryan s 3.5/5. A fun sequel that goes in a completely different direction than the original with some awesome creature designs. I just wish it had gone further with its premise. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review steve d A huge step in the wrong direction for an already iffy series. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member What the heck? That's were their taking the series! Well, talk about a missed opportunity. Instead of some creepy sequel with more murder down by the deformed brother we get a refuge house full of people with non realistic mutation-deformitys. I mean, who has teeth that are bewigged then your face, also one of them has the face of a frog. How does that happen? Did this persons mom mate with a frog? The other ones are horrible. I could just go on, on how unrealistic these characters are. Who thought this would be a good sequel. Not to mention the kills were boring and repetitive. The deformed brother jumps on the victims face, the victims stumbles around until their dead. Something that was good is that it started were the last one ended, and it was entertaining. Something I wanted to mention was the cool "The Brain that wouldn't die" reference in the newspaper office. So all in all this is an insult to horror movies.
