Even more violent, gory, and downright mad than the original, it dives headfirst into total lunacy while keeping the story alive and never letting the pace sag, something many sequels fail at. Picking up directly after its predecessor, it’s a must-watch for fans of the first film or cult horrors like Demons and Braindead. While it works perfectly as a stand-alone, watching the original first heightens the experience—but either way, the sheer, unhinged energy makes it impossible to look away. This could have been okay if it were completely assumed, but the film seems to be trying to convey some critical messages while portraying a very ridiculous portrait of marginalized monster-like humans (unlike the first Basket Case, which maintained a balance between the crude and campy aspects and the deeper themes). It is twisted film making dying to shock you with the sicker side of our body pretending that it is enlightening us. I loved every second without a moment of introspective boredom.
