Otro intento de John Wick, en este caso devenido en cura y forzado a volver a la matanza como siempre. Se deja ver y entretiene pero tampoco mucho.

I really liked this movie! Although there was violence, which I don't like, it was a good framing of good vs. evil, with a Christian world-view for those who see things through that lens. The violence was not gratuitous, but was an integral part of the story. The characters were well-drawn, and the story was engaging and solid. Character development was very good, and the plotline and cinematography were riveting. If you don't like violence in films, this film is not for you. But if you don't mind violence in the context of a powerful story, this is a good film!

There is something entertaining about how bad this movie is, particularly when superimposed against the few things it kinda does right along with how seriously it takes itself. It's most certainly much better than almost anything else David A R White has done, which is actually really sad considering that this is up there with mid-tier Asylum films like Apocalypse Earth, only this one with a crowbarred religious element. With that, so little finesse is implemented in regards to the religious nonsense that I seriously wonder if it was added afterward - the fact that the main "hero" (he's not really a hero or an antihero) becomes a preacher is so insignificant to the rest of the story that it wasn't remotely needed; if he was instead just a man who went from killer to one who wanted to escape all forms of violence again, but never actually enrolled in any religion, the story would have been functionally identical. On that note, fortunately, this movie doesn't do the idiotic Gods Not Dead things of having it be some kind of holy war - this isn't a John Wick character killing people who work to try to discredit Christianity; in fact, the villain is part of a (seemingly self-made) cult, which I think is a far better approach than the usual "Good Christian vs Man Who Is Evil Simply By Not Being A Christian" paradigm that movies of this sort generally boil down to. If you made the main character a standard Christian character, and had the movie play out otherwise the same, any non-Christian would happily side with the Christian hero, so props to them here. Additionally, this movie is better Directed than those helmed by David A R White himself; it's still mid-tier Direct To DVD quality, but it's not at all incompetent in the way it was done. In fact, a few minutes actually work pretty effectively, and those that outright fall flat feel more due to the momentary pretentious dialogue rather than the Directing; what's funny is that the script is pretty straightforward outside of the pretentious moments, making these moments not only feel forced, but actually rather out-of-place against the rest of the movie. The acting is mediocre but not awful, the action scenes are slightly below average but not the worst you've seen, and the pacing isn't bad. Honestly, it's just a Good Bad movie, with some moments of actual quality, at least considering the pedigree that this movie's Studio usually produces.

If you're gonna watch an action movie, it may as well have a Christian message in it, and Beckman has just that. It is too gory for children and has almost nonstop violence, but reflects what many peoples' lives are like today and even though we may all falter on our walk with God it is never too late to make the right decisions.

It was fun to watch, there's a whole lot of room to improve in sequels like:
1) Hire more people to do these films, don't overwhelm yourself with too many responsibilities
2) Spend more time doing character development, don't rush stuff
3) Show don't tell and make sure everything's organized
4) Think about the logic of the choices each character make before finalizing them
5) There's always room for improvement in the acting
