Nick Allen RogerEbert.com Throughout its 86 minutes, it's too easy to tell whenever Behind You has given up at being truly surprising. Rated: 1/4 Apr 17, 2020 Full Review Frank Scheck The Hollywood Reporter Behind You features little that horror film fans haven't seen endless times before. There's nothing wrong with familiar conventions, of course, but the novice writers/directors here fail to enliven them... Apr 15, 2020 Full Review Sarah Vincent Sarah G Vincent Views Horror is at its best when the sensational aspects are placeholders for real life issues, but here the horror is a rip off better films such as “The Exorcist” (1973) or “Paranormal Activity” franchise. Jun 9, 2024 Full Review Dev Shea 1428 Elm There is nothing wrong with this film visually or atmospherically but the story left a lot to be desired. Sep 15, 2022 Full Review Grant Hermanns ComingSoon.net The characters feel underwhelming and its story proves super predictable. Rated: 5/10 Oct 21, 2020 Full Review John Serba Decider An arid expanse of plot thirsting for a single droplet of logic and sense. Aug 18, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews

David B Not sure why people expect anything new after 100 years of horror movies, and 100 years of written gothic horror before that. Of course it's all been done before! This was a very accomplished contribution to that legacy which I enjoyed. Atmospheric. Good acting. All, I suspect on a small budget. Plus a 'nice' ending for a change (whilst leaving the door open for more). Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/20/24 Full Review Luke W This movie is a complete waste of time and budget. The monster or what ever it is which they barely explain through throwaway dialogue. It feels like this movie could have ended three or four times. Acting is atrocious and story is a made by AI most likely. How this got passed through by Amazon is beyond me. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/22/24 Full Review Audience Member This is a good scary movie with a shocking twist. My legs were restless during a lot of scenes!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member First half was alright. Second half was meh! It is as if the director ran out of idea and tried to drag the movie longer using recycled ideas. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member This film HAS to be a joke, right? This is best summarized as an unintentional parody of the genre. Even the first Annabelle movie knew when to stop copying previous films of the same concept, this movie doesn't even try to do that. Every haunted house trope you can possibly think of is found here. Logic is also out the window, the characters are boring, the dialogue is also just laughable, and the acting is uneven at best. Oh, and the film is a fan of never knowing when to end either, which is the most annoying thing about it. Notice how I haven't even mentioned the scares either, because the film's about as scary as a piece of wet cardboard. Just...no. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member The writing leaves a lot to be desired. The acting starts strong, then drops in a big way. Half of the movie is incoherent screaming with little explanation while the cuts seem to teleport characters to different rooms haphazardly. This movie abruptly shifts to a parody of itself, and unfortunately shows Andrew Mecham's inexperience. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Read all reviews
