WWE Superstars aren't seen as actors, but in fact make some of the best action heroes on the big screen. They may be athletes showing off impossible moves in the ring, but they are also actors, who portray characters and memorize lines on a weekly basis. They are tailor made action stars, who even do their own stunts. That's why I was looking forward to Bending The Rules, It's star Edge is one of the most charismatic superstars in WWE history and he certainly didn't disappoint, unlike the script. The story follows a by the book District Attorney, who turns to an unconventional cop to help him, when his late father's prized possession is stolen. In order to score points with the man who is out to get him, the officer agrees, having no idea the case would take him into something much bigger. As I said Edge was great, the stunts were terrific, he was funny, and had great chemistry with Jamie Kennedy. This comedic duo could have made a great film together, if they didn't get stuck with a script that made little sense and was all over the place. This film randomly jumps between scenes without any context and without completing the scene before it, A lot of it just doesn't make sense. The whole premise is a bit ridiculous to begin with, a D.A. turning to the cop he's trying to bust to help him get back a stolen car, which leads to an international conspiracy, involving the police, the D.A., the FBI, gangsters, drug dealers, gang-bangers, and everyone else they could throw in there. Honestly, I continued to watch this film for it's humor and it's exemplary choreographed action sequences, beyond that, Bending The Rules is a pretty forgettable film.

With Wrestlemania coming up, I figured I would watch this as it was free and a WWE movie. Well, just like the other WWE movies I've seen, it sucked. The story is lame, the action is pretty bad and the acting is gawd awful. Edge was an amazing wrestler, but he is not a good actor at all. But then again, the material he is working with is horrible. He plays a detective who is on trial for corruption, and then helps out the DA.(Jamie Kennedy) who is against him, from criminals who want him dead. All while trying to find his dads car that was stolen. This is probably the worst buddy cop movie out there, and is just best to stay away from it. Hour and a half you won't get back.

Ok it's from WWE Studios which in the first place is sketchy, but being Jamie Kennedy co-stars alongside Retired wrestler Edge I figured it would at least be a little funny. Well in a way yes but of the WWE movies I've seen so far I think only one or 2 were actually good. (12 Rounds starring John Cena being one of them) This had some cheesy rhyming dialog for what seemed no apparent reason other than hopefully for a couple chuckles. (not from me) I think once I laughed in the movie and can't even remember at what! However while no animals were harmed in the movie.. a really awesome old car was ? They fix these cars if (if needed) & paint them so nice & then they go beat them up! Yeah I know they usually get 2 or 3 different ones depending on for driving shooting etc. stunts but man it hurts to see old beauties like that get trashed! The storyline's not really original, amusing but not really funny but somewhat fun. Definitely either a rental or watch on cable only. C-

An exceptionally fun buddy-comedy. It`s filled with great humor, suspense, action and rapid-fire chemistry from its two leads. Edge and Jamie Kennedy are wonderful, they play off eachother nicely and show lots of charisma in this old-school action-comedy. An enjoyable and wildly entertaining goodtime.
