(ENGLISH) Mixing a hijacking thriller with a vampire horror film isn’t common, and that’s where Blood Red Sky scores its first point. The premise is intriguing: a plane taken over by terrorists, a seemingly fragile mother hiding a dark secret, and a story that soon erupts into violence and blood.
The film plays with suspense in its opening, but once the fangs come out it turns into a full-on display of action and gore. At times it feels exaggerated or even a bit silly, but it keeps the viewer hooked with its genre mash-up. If you’re looking for refined horror you might be disappointed; if you want chaotic fun, you’ll get it.
Comparisons to Train to Busan are inevitable: the same confined space, the same tension, except here it’s vampires instead of zombies. It also recalls the frantic tone of Guillermo del Toro’s The Strain. It doesn’t reach the heights of either, but it navigates that middle ground fairly well.
Special effects do their job, the bloody scenes don’t hold back, and the cast delivers the intensity the story requires. Narratively it could have been sharper—some stretches feel too long—but as entertainment it works.
In the end, Blood Red Sky is an original twist within a genre that rarely dares to blend this much. It’s not a masterpiece, but it’s a wild, entertaining ride that shows there’s still room for fresh takes on vampire stories.

It was a scary movie to watch and it was shockingly insane! It was good though. The movie was not bad at all.

This wasn’t thrilling; it was tedious.
The pitch is gold: a vampire mum vs hijackers on a plane, but the execution is all melodrama and crying kid instead of carnage. And the kids' voice…so annoying.
The lead villain tried too hard to be edgy, and it backfired into parody.
The vampires weren’t special, just generic monsters. Add in awkward voice dubbing, and the whole thing falls flat. Good idea, poor movie.

Blood Red Sky is a foreign thriller that promised a gripping, high-stakes setup: a woman traveling with her child aboard a plane that becomes hijacked by a group of armed individuals. Right from the beginning, you sense that she knows something is off — she feels the danger looming — yet still chooses to put her son in harm’s way. That intentional decision alone is hard to overlook, and it already made me question her choices as a protagonist.
From the trailer and setup, I was expecting something sharp and suspenseful, almost in the vein of Panic Room (2002) with Jodie Foster or Red Eye (2005) with Rachel McAdams — tight, tense thrillers where you’re stuck in one setting, every second matters, and danger feels grounded and real.
But instead, the movie takes a completely different turn. What starts as a hostage-hijacking thriller morphs into something entirely supernatural — introducing demon-like creatures, a dark “mysterious monster” twist, and a bizarre horror element that, for me, derailed the entire experience. The shift wasn’t just surprising, it felt forced and out of place, like two different movies glued together.
The pacing didn’t help either. The film is slow, dragging through its setup without giving us the urgency or sharp intensity that a hijacking story demands. By the time the real action kicks in, you’re already worn out, and then the supernatural angle makes it feel even less believable.
What could have been a nail-biting, claustrophobic thriller instead became a strange hybrid of a monster movie in the sky. Once the “twist” hit, I was checked out completely.
Final Verdict: This one was not for me. The supernatural shift felt bogus, the pacing dragged, and the potential for a clever, human-driven thriller was wasted. Definitely not something I’d rewatch or recommend.

A different but pleasant surprise for vampire films that breaks away from overused tropes and grips you all the way through!

I'm not a big fan of neither action not vampires movies, but this one is really good. It feel engaging and it went through topics often forgotten by vampires movies in general
