Audience Member This is a nuanced piece, that operates both figuratively and otherwise on several levels. A good effort by Greg Jackson. The suppositions underlying the movie are more than a bit weak. Just why is Grace 'in command'- because daddy was the president? And why does Alice have so much power over them all? But its strength is the cadence- the time taken to develop not just the thin story line, nor the simple suspense sequences, but to allow the feeling of timelessness to take hold for the viewer. The survivors could be there for how long before the last of the tubes burned out or the food or whatever? Post apocalypse formula movies always have survivors- sometimes unlikely, sometimes the meanest and roughest of them all. While Bunker 6 adheres to that, it adds the layer which is actually the most brutal- which is to come to terms with the claustrophobia of our little lives on a lonely planet. Alice does this with her 'there is only today' mantra, which Grace pretends to abide by. Eric, who is most sane, carries the mantle of insanity and also, as the last neutered male, is subjugated to the will of the women. All in all very interesting, and nice to see the Diefenbunkers finally get used for something better than what they were built for. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews
