Phuong Le Guardian Despite Phillips' cleaver-wielding swagger... Butchers is pretty much dead meat, an amalgam of worn-out tropes unsuccessfully zombified to life. Rated: 2/5 Feb 17, 2021 Full Review Rebecca Johnson Film Focus Online Butchers doesn't do anything else aside from causing a queasy stomach, and for many will just be another slow and anti-climactic gory flick with boring protagonists and one dimensional villains. Rated: 2/5 Aug 6, 2023 Full Review Martin Unsworth Starburst While it won't win any awards for originality, it's a fun watch for those with a stomach and in the mood for another 'hillbillies with a cannibal brother' flick. Rated: 3/5 Mar 9, 2021 Full Review Alix Turner Ready Steady Cut One to watch if you really, really wish there were more hillbilly horror films, or if you have a bingo card of horror tropes handy. Otherwise, not. Rated: 2/5 Feb 18, 2021 Full Review Tom Beasley Flickering Myth A gory trudge through horror tropes, entirely lacking in any sense of gleeful malevolence or gritty thrills. Damningly, it just sort of exists. Rated: 2/5 Feb 17, 2021 Full Review Lucy Buglass Love Horror Butchers is watchable, but it really doesn't bring anything new to the genre so some fans may be disappointed if the synopsis drew them in. Dan C Nonsensical, unoriginal crap. Don't waste your time. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/04/24 Full Review Holland W Poor story line, seen it in too many bad films. Sub par acting and why do the hillbillies all have perfect teeth? They live in a dilapidated home but with an apparently excellent dental plan. NOT recommend for anyone who has an I.Q. Boo….. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/28/24 Full Review Rob H Some poor acting a lack of delivery on what is quite a good storyline. Not a bad overall watch Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/11/24 Full Review Trina H What can I say about this ridiculously bad movie. It was awfully bad. I had no one to root for. They captive characters had absolutely no common sense. The two females escaped several times, but either stupidly got in the car in the middle of nowhere and let him drive her to his back his rundown shack where she is captured. Then the two females escaped again and decides to go back back to their broken down car to wait for a tow truck that was called by the crazy man who beat, tortured and kidnapped them. The male & the remaining living female again escaped, but instead of getting away in the truck and going to the police, they decide to get a shot gun and go after their crazy ass kidnappers. This movie is a crazy, idiot very poorly written script. I don't fault the actors. They did a relatively good job. They can only act out what the script says. It is just very poorly written!!!! What an absolute waste of my time! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/16/23 Full Review Alex B This movie is worth the watch. It will make you feel uneasy but it's good. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Movie was just gory trash with a super unsatisfying ending. The bad guys win, the end.
