      Giacomo F The best italian modern comedy movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/29/22 Full Review Audience Member Three must really be the perfect number because the third time on the big screen for Aldo, Giovanni & Giacomo is also their best one, a slice-of-life story of friendship so natural that only true friends could have written it, mixed with a sincere homage to theatre, from which the trio hails. Everything flows spontaneously with the help of trusted co-stars, the humour gains its own independence from the usual sketches without losing any of its typical grip, and some dialogues will always be quotable. Its only defect - if I have to find one - is that it works so well in Italian that any attempt at translating it would inevitably lessen its comical impact. Vedendolo oggi sicuramente rimane una commedia ben fatta, anche perché ha un modo di presentarsi che sembra d'altri tempi (nell'eccezione positiva del termine). D'altro canto però questo prodotto, se visto da un'ottica non prettamente italiana (o comunque da una persona che non ha vissuto il fenomeno "Aldo, Giovanni e Giacomo"), risulta meno affascinante e potente. Infatti, ai tempi bastava una smorfia di uno dei tre per far ridere il pubblico italiano. Rimane comunque un buon film che oltre alla battuta prova a raccontare qualcosa di più e lo fa con modestia; cosa non da poco. Così è la vita era divertente, ma questo sicuramente è molto meglio riuscito. Alterna anche momenti più seri, però molte delle gag sono esilaranti e anche la sceneggiatura ha quel non so che di film un po' più importante.
