Eddie Harrison film-authority.com …Terminator 2 this is assuredly not, but Chopping Mall’s light serving of sci-fi action has plenty of retro charm today… Rated: 3/5 May 10, 2023 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews An inane but entertaining horror comedy. Rated: C+ Jun 2, 2020 Full Review Josh Goller Spectrum Culture There's ample retro-futurist quaintness in this film, as with most pre-internet B-movies with a technophobic bent. Jul 16, 2019 Full Review Sean Mulvihill FanboyNation.com Say what you will about the title, there's no denying that Chopping Mall has one of the great taglines ever - "Where Shopping Costs You an Arm and a Leg!" Rated: 4/5 Nov 1, 2018 Full Review James Kendrick Q Network Film Desk Its no-fills exploitation ethos is infectious, and you can't help but admire its economy, even if that fantastic title is just a tad misleading Rated: 3/4 Sep 29, 2016 Full Review Tim Brayton Antagony & Ecstasy Disreputably fun... just about the best low-budget movie about killer robots destroying a shopping mall that can ever be produced. Sohnya K This movie is exactly what you'd want from the poster. Cheesy popcorn horror. Great to watch with friends on a big screen! The robots are a ton of fun and any bad continuity errors or acting just fleshes out the mood of the film. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/28/24 Full Review Johnathon W Fun B-movie that holds up pretty well, thanks to a cast and filmmakers that know exactly what they are making. The actors are solid and having fun, though no one really stands out, outside of the legend that is Barbara Crampton. Behind the camera, writer/director Jim Wynroski crafts a fun movie that is never really scary but has plenty of fun and action to keep you entertained (it helps the film is under 90 minutes). The robots are especially fun, and since done practically, hold up great today. All in all, not a perfect film but definitely a fun one. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/28/24 Full Review Pooflower Ah yes, the era of slashers. I love robots and seeing killer robots kill teens in a mall? Cool! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/22/23 Full Review DanTheMan 2 No-fills exploitation ethos and disreputably fun, Chopping Mall is contagious. You can't help but admire its economy, even if its title and tagline are just a tad misleading. With bizarre acting choices and strange line delivery, it's mostly salvaged by a quick pace, distracting sense of humour and plenty of retro charm. Ultimately, Chopping Mall is a no-budget Dawn of the Dead but with clunky laser-shooting killer robots instead of zombies. Have a nice day. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/10/23 Full Review John D This is Terminator meets Valley Girl. It has likeable characters, a great premise and a perfect blend of humor and gore. It is not to be taken especialky seriously, the movie plats out tongue firmly in cheek and it has a generous helping of 80's cheese but there in lays the charm. If you are looking for an enjoyable fun horrir flick grab your popcorn and pop this in and have a blast. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/26/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
