Audience Member it is such a good movie and funny and drmatik and well i cant tell the story but it is a great movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Ugh! When will movies that are supposed to be comedies stop with the tear jerking sections? Poor Adam Sandler; his life goes down the tubes quick when he begins fast forwarding through his own life; I feel sorry for the directors who produced this garbage. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a bad version of It's A Wonderful Life. It's not funny. It's so sad that Adam Sandler's career sunk this low. I loved him in Happy Gilmore. The concept had potential but they killed it. The only remotely funny scene that I remember is when Adam's character gives the finger to his ex-wife's new husband. I'm downgrading this movie with every passing day. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member I am here to tell you the Siskle and Roeper do not know what they are talking about when it comes to this movie. I have a very hard time picking movies that my husband and I can both enjoy. So to my amazment when I brought this movie home, my husband laughed through the whole movie. I hope you enjoy this as much as we did. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member I thought that Click was one of the best movies that I have seen all year. Adam Sandler delivers with a standout performance(probably his best performance yet.). What starts out as every man's dream, turns into Sandler's worst nightmare with a blend of his stylish humor. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Adam Sandler stars in this movie about skipping over the dull and excruciating parts of reality known as Click. Why anyone would want to skip any part of their life involving Kate Beckinsale is beyond me, but apparently Sandler playing Michael Newman, just doesn’t have time enough in a day to deal with all the things he needs to deal with. The standard conflict of getting ahead at work versus spending time with the family is presented here as Michael is the barely there husband and dad trying to become a partner in an architectural firm. Finally, the last straw is that he has too many remotes so off he jets to “Bed Bath and Beyond™” to see if they have a universal remote. Of course, it is in the “Beyond” section where he finds Christopher Walken who plays Morty a seemingly docile proprietor of this section of the department store. Imagine that, Christopher Walken playing the part of an eccentric mad-scientist type involved with more black-ops like inventions. Michael gets the remote and realizes it does more than merely changes channels; it completely controls the world around him. He can turn down the barking volume of the family dog, speed through arguments with his wife. He can even rewind parts of his life to remember the song that was playing the first time him and Donna (Kate Beckinsale) his wife kissed. One major problem with this movie in my opinion was that in a way the remote was to be a way for Michael to have more time for his family. Why he didn’t just pause the world around him so he could do his work and then press play in order to spend quality time with his family is beyond me. But the movie probably then would have fractured. After all, nothing good should come of this, right? And you would bet correctly. In addition to being a standard remote, it has Tivo like functions of recording your preferences and likewise automatically programming itself to behave similarly in a given situation. For instance, if an argument is fast-forwarded, then all arguments are fast-forwarded. If a time for intimacy is sped up, then all similar times are given the same attention. The irony is that the device that was to give him greater control of his life actually gives Michael no control. As a result, he loses his wife; he gains weight, and is alone in the world and doesn’t even get to see his kids grow up. His kids, as a result, barely see him as their father, but rather look at their new stepfather, played by Sean Astin, as their “real” dad which is sad. The movie kind of takes a Capraesque turn, allowing Michael to see what would happen if he ran the rest of his life on autopilot. And, in the end, Morty seems less a benefit than the instrument of Michael’s destruction. But this is a comedy, so it isn’t going to end badly. The ending is more like Bruce Almighty meets “It’s a Wonderful Life” as he wakes up finds out it’s a dream, but…not really. Walken was pretty good in this movie as well as Sandler, though I wish there was much more comedic bits regarding the remote that were not seen in the trailers. Also the special effects of Michael’s life menu were pretty cool along with the funny satire on DVD extras, such as a commentary by James Earl Jones. The other actors in the movie also should get some credit. David Hasselhoff does a great job as his pretentious and superficial boss. Henry Winkler and Julie Kavner are well suited as Michael’s parents. Even the kids have good roles that expand with time. All in all, don’t see this movie at night. See it during the day is my recommendation. I definitely would like to rent the DVD when it comes out in a couple months. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews
