Jacob B Code 8 Part II has its moments, actors trying their best and at least it tried to do something different rather than just rehash the events of the first film but I felt it was boring, the young girl whom the film revolves around would've had a better dynamic with Garrett rather than Connor (since "rediscovering your humanity" is the new trend ever since The Mandalorian) and I think its pacing was way too fast. As far as grounded superhero media goes, I found this sequel to be rather forgettable. I'd rather stick with either Unbreakable or Heroes. While the latter had a ton of flaws after the first season thanks to being affected by a writers' strike that it never truly recovered from, there was never a dull moment and even at its worst, it leaned more towards endearingly bad rather than merely mundane. Maybe a Code 8 Part III will improve things significantly but I can't say that it was compelling as back when the protagonist had a personal stake in the story back when he was taking care of his sick mother. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/27/24 Full Review Tyler C A good continuation from the first, although with a somewhat simpler good vs. evil plot. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/22/24 Full Review Mark B A good followup sequel that changed enough to keep it interesting. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/19/24 Full Review Tina K Good vs. evil. Dystopian story. Like the first film, it has some badass robots. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/19/24 Full Review Emma C Pretty good continuation from the first movie. The action becomes more and more intense as the movie goes on and some characters get killed off really fast (unfortunately). Not too bad for a watch Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/16/24 Full Review Michael W This Code 8 sequel was pretty good. Robbie Amell, Stephen Amell, Sirena Gulamgaus, Alex Mallari Jr., Aaron Abrams, and the rest of the cast did a pretty good job in this movie. The plot of the movie was dramatic and kind of thrilling. It wasn't as good as the first movie. If you haven't seen this movie yet, you might enjoy it. It's not too bad. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/10/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Glenn Kenny New York Times In the end, even genre fans with relaxed standards might try to similarly rebel against this insipid offering. Feb 28, 2024 Full Review Marya E. Gates RogerEbert.com Like its predecessor, "Code 8: Part II" uses its high concept sci-fi to critique the increasing violence of the militarized police state, especially in the age of surveillance. Rated: 2.5/4 Feb 28, 2024 Full Review Tara McNamara Common Sense Media It's an improvement on the original, but while this sci-fi crime thriller is more entertaining than the first movie, it's not more powerful. Mar 12, 2024 Full Review Brandon Zachary CBR Code 8: Part II takes on some interesting and ambitious thematic elements at the cost of character focus in this well-constructed sci-fi flick. Rated: 6/10 Mar 9, 2024 Full Review Roger Moore Movie Nation This thriller has no momentum. Its forward motion is too often interrupted to watch the robotic police dog do something, an expensive effect, even in Canada. Rated: 1.5/4 Mar 8, 2024 Full Review William Tucker But Why Tho? A Geek Community Code 8: Part II never moves beyond a baseline. It is constantly deprived of depth in every area. The visuals may be the only improvement from the first movie, whilst everything else remains the same. Rated: 6/10 Mar 2, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews
