Michael Barrett PopMatters It comes across as almost a dry run [to Death Wish], but more intelligent, humane and European while still delivering plenty of violence and thrills. Apr 29, 2019 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy Despite a Richard Matheson novel as its source and a three-time 007 director at its helm (Terence Young), it's a threadbare affair, with only Bronson's lively performance keeping it afloat. Doug D If you've only seen Bronson in Death Wish, you're missing where the persona started. Check out this earlier film. It has aged but it's peculiarly entertaining Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/03/21 Full Review Audience Member Quite a bizarre action vehicle, but Bronson is a lot more likeable than he usually plays. The car chase in it is quite something to behold. The very end had me scratching my head, but it's a pretty fun movie, especially if you're a Bronson fan. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/02/19 Full Review delysid d This is a great movie. i cant believe you all are giving this 21% Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/02/18 Full Review kevin w A Charles Bronson thriller. The old gang of thugs, er, hoodlums, er, old buds, er, ex-cons, er, "honey, these are the guys I used to run with" show up and wanna see how Charlie's doing in the straight life. They also wanna see his 12-year-old daughter too. What follows next is some of the usual bust-it-up Bronson fans have come to expect and love, including a nice car chase down some curvy mountain roads over in Europe. It's better than you thought. Still, what's Liv Ullman doing in this? And James Mason's Southern accent will make you cry it's soooo bad. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Bronson is in fine physical form in this Euro thriller that features some good action, uneven acting, and large plot holes. If you like the star, then this movie is an OK time-waster. Ullmann, in an attempt to stretch to more commercial cinema looks constipated throughout and Mason's phoney southern accent is a distraction. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review bill t 'Cold Sweat' is a 70's actioner I was actually quite pleasantly surprised by. Charles Bronson plays a guy whose cronies have caught up with him after spending many years in jail for a crime that he fled from. He's in sanctuary in France with his wife (played, rather slummingly wouldn't you say? By Liv Ullmann), and what do you know, his evil friends from the past catch up with him and takes his whole family hostage so that they can complete the One More Job together. Bronson accepts, but since this is a Bronson film, He's Got Other Tricks Up His Sleeve. So begins a fun little cat and mouse game, mainly dealing with the daughter or other of the bad guys (played hilariously by James Mason) and the trade-offs Manson and Mason are fun to watch. There's lots of chases too! Wee! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
