Audience Member For reasons which are unknown even to me, I've become a connoisseur of the "evil child" genre of film. It is a genre that requires great skill and actors in building a credible, well-told story. I give this otherwise completely forgettable and laughably bad example of the genre a single star because you can see the germs of good ideas in amongst the many poorly executed scenes you see in the end product. First of all, the title character doesn't really have what it takes to generate fear. The actress portraying her (who I recognized from an episode of "The Nanny") just doesn't have what it takes to create the kind of creepy, unsettling evil being that a movie like this desperately needs to succeed. And if you don't have a good child actor playing the evil child, the whole enterprise will be a waste of time. Which this is. What COULD have been "The Bad Seed" of the '90s is instead a forgettable misfire that the folks at RiffTrax could work wonders with. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Daddy's Girl Movie Review! The movie about a young girl who becomes sadistic when her relationship with her father is at risk. Well to be honest, it doesn't look like a bad movie. It, by far, isn't a great one. The acting isn't the best, but it is manageable. The visuals aren't as bad as I thought; dare I say, they were good? I was expecting a different ending for this movie, but the one presented wasn't bad either. It seemed to handle it rather well; though a bit too docile. I mean, this girl is obviously troubled and no one seems to act like it. Oh well. It's really a 5 out of 10. (2.5 stars) It's an average movie. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Good movie. Bad acting. 1996 B-Movie. Also, awkward film cuts, some original, some off. Worth a watch! On Netflix streaming... Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member **1/2 The girls awful acting actually makes this film a hoot to watch. She kills off family members as if she's playing with her Barbie doll. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member I loved the bad seed and thought the orphan was a really good psychological thriller. This film also tries to use a similar formula of a psychotic cute kid killer.Unfortunately the writing is very predictable and there are no surprises which is not good when it is supposed to be a thriller. The 11 year old child killer us cute but a bad actress who plays this part over the top and rot believeably. In fact I thought she was so bad at times it was almost laughable.William Katt and Michelle Greene I have enjoyed watching before in other films as well as television series and they can act but are not given the opportunity in this film to shine much.I thought there was not enough good story telling to make the audience have sympathy a tall for the troubled child.So.for this being a lack of a movie and rather stick with the movie called"Orphan" wich was better than this I gave this film a D.
