Gonzalo G Jul 28 A highly underrated horror film from the 1980s. A film that deserves greater recognition. A seemingly simple plot, but what the film shows completely makes up for it with creative and gory deaths, mediocre and somewhat passable acting for a low-budget Italian film, a villain with a simple design but a mask that reflects the disturbing nature of the film, as well as the themes it contains and reveals at certain moments. A film that is a loving expression of the horror genre. See more SkyRo P @TheMovieSearch May 16 The 1980s film "Stage Fright" was a quirky blend of corniness and creativity that defined its era. With subpar acting and a heavy dose of nudity—commonplace in horror films of that time—it certainly left an impression, though not necessarily a favorable one. From start to finish, it felt overly cheesy and lacking substance. The dialogue didn't sync well with the characters' lips, making it clear that the film hasn't aged gracefully. The climax was particularly perplexing; the protagonist, despite being saved from the antagonist, seemed indifferent to her rescuer and instead left him to repeat the same lines, giving off an air of confusion or even insanity. Ultimately, I believe the film could have benefited from deeper character development instead of focusing on an obnoxious director. Tiene una historia bastante sencilla, pero un guion bien sólido. El montaje hace un esfuerzo por hacer que los pocos errores que la película tiene pasen desapercibidos. Si se tiene un buen ojo, es fácil notar algunas cosas que por suerte son muy pocas. La que más se podría notar es la escena donde una de las chicas es cortada a la mitad sin saber cómo el asesino lo hizo y minutos después descubrimos que fue con una motosierra, aunque no se había escuchado el ruido del motor al principio. O también está el momento en que Brett se está mirando en un espejo y al prestar mucha atención, se puede ver al asesino detrás de él antes de su aparición sorpresa. Desde luego, la película tiene una conclusión muy poco creíble como aquellos slashers que solo buscan dar un susto final sin la necesidad de ser coherentes. A pesar de estos detalles, la película es estupenda gracias a su dirección, buenos planos y excelente ritmo. Michele Soavi ha sabido plasmar en esta película el sabor del cine de terror italiano y hacer un slasher bastante bueno. La película ya es interesante desde que empieza o cuando nos presentan el hospital psiquiátrico donde yace el asesino antagonista. Las muertes de la película tienen pocos efectos prácticos, pero lograron ser bien realizadas por el montaje. La banda sonora de Simon Boswell es de las mejores que se han hecho para el cine slasher o el cine de terror italiano. Tiene un estilo musical que se siente como una mezcla de pop, rock y electrónica. Es un trabajo admirable que debe ser escuchado por los aficionados a las bandas sonoras del cine de terror. Aquarius es un slasher italiano que ha envejecido bien y aun con sus defectos, logra ser una película encantadora que ofrece buenas muertes, intriga y algo de humor. Su frescura se sigue manteniendo intacta y es muy recomendable para los fanáticos del slasher. Mi calificación para esta película es un 8/10.
