Audience Member Toni Collette's performance is solid, and the plot has potential but ultimately, it is mostly worth watching for the nostalgic value of the late 90's. You've probably never heard of this movie and there was a good reason why. At the time of it original release Princess Dianna has just passed away. The film need to be quickly reedited, but by the time it hit movies theatres in 1998 it was just viewed in poor taste. Watching this in 2020 the movie provides an interesting commentary on Princess Dianna stalking by Paparazzi that ultimately lead to her death. It follows a woman by the same name as the Princess, called Diana Spencer (Collette). Who wins a magazine competition to meet the Lady Di in the UK at a luncheon on an all expenses paid trip. She ends up encountering a paparazzi in the UK who is just as obsessed as she is in get the perfect photo opportunity with the Princess. Together they embark on numerous run-ins, adventures and eventually forming connection. The movie ends up coming across as time capsule full of late 90's nostalgia, from the fashion to music and just for that it's a fun watch. Unfortunately, the plot can be weak sometimes and at times a bit derivative particularly if you've seen a few rom-coms. If you were a fan of Muriel's Wedding and you looking for something to pass the time I'd suggest giving it watch, but good luck finding it!
