Audience Member This goes way back to 1929, but it still remains quite powerful and impressive today. It concerns the British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli as he tries to beat the Russians to the purchase of the Suez Canal. What really makes this is George Arliss as Disraeli. He is an actors actor. He is not pretty, but you can't take your eyes off him. He won the third Best Actor Academy Award ever given. It is well deserved.
