Escape From Tomorrow

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Conceptually audacious but only intermittently successful in execution, Escape From Tomorrow is nonetheless visually inventive and darkly surreal.

J. R. Jones Chicago Reader It feels much like a theme park itself -- really exciting at first, but then your senses are dulled, and eventually you just want to go. Oct 31, 2013 Full Review Liam Lacey Globe and Mail Suggests an R-rated Twilight Zone episode with a twist of Fellini-lite, in a trite film school kind of way. Rated: 2/4 Oct 25, 2013 Full Review Peter Howell Toronto Star It's really just a middling fantasy about a middle-aged dad having a meltdown during a family vacation to the Magic Kingdom, with a few scattered sci-fi and horror elements thrown in. Mike S This is one of the few movies that I truly cannot understand the disparity between the critics and the audience score. It's bad. It's really really bad. There is a reason Randy Moore has gone on to do... nothing. I wanted to write a significant breakdown of this, but won't. This movie comes at a time when filmmakers over-emphasized the disturbing contrast between two worlds and thought that contrast alone made a good movie. Spoilers, it doesn't. Sorry Randy, I look forward to your next... hamburger? I really don't know what you do now. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/25/24 Full Review Joanne M this movie is like if the twilight zone teamed up with a24 but then got derailed by a college film frat bro. there's too many plots with no resolution to any of them, and it's creepy in the worst way with it's voyeuristic and pedophilic shots. props for shooting at disney though, take down that capitalistic mouse lmao -j&h Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/09/24 Full Review Caleb W a thematically nonsensical mishmash of the director's half thought out ideas. the epitome of fake deep filmbro garbage Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/22/23 Full Review Conrad S Escape from Tomorrow is conceptually interesting, and it contains a few good ideas. But the execution ranges from inept to offensive.
