Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com It's actually a rather ingenious storyline to have the film's violence triggered by film violence. Rated: 2.5/4.0 Sep 7, 2020 Full Review Emanuel Levy EmanuelLevy.Com Rated: 2/5 Sep 19, 2005 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Evil Ed is a 90's Swedish film that tries to be a harrowing homage to horror through humor. While the films sense of humor does seem a bit over the top, like say Troma but with a budget. But just when you think this film is a flop and should be left on the cutting room floor, it surprises you with the number of nods to so numerous famous horror movies. Plus, the film is packed with a slew of gory, Karo syrup soaked, practical special effects that have never before been attempted in Sweden until this time. So all of this, coupled with a witty satirical, and yet serious message about creative censorship in the 90's, definitely makes this film an interesting blood-soaked watch for horror fans! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Evil Ed features some cool gore moments and a hilarious story about a man becoming so desensitized to horror that he becomes a deranged killer. There's a good number of funny and brutal moments, but the story feels really small, the sets are small, and some moments drag on a fair bit too long. Better to watch in a group than alone. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member There's some fun to be had in this ridiculous mess. Like there are some nice effects and a couple absurd laughs, but for the most part it's better off collecting dust. Maybe my expectations were too high... Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Evil Ed is too low budget to get its point across the way it wants to. The vision is sound, but the execution needs work. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member A thoroughly enjoyable gore flick that I'd somehow missed during the '90s, but recently discovered on DVD courtesy of a local pawn shop. Well worth tracking down, give it a rental. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Read all reviews
