Audience Member Before my viewing of Ferocious, I knew it was going to be a bad movie. My only motivation for watching this movie was Amanda Crew. She is one of many actresses that I think has a lot of talent but hasn't had many chances to show it. The good news about Ferocious is that Amanda Crew gives a great performance. She put the production on her back and she ran with it. The bad news about Ferocious is that the movie is an absolute train wreck. The direction was choppy and poor, the story was too jumbled and a little confusing, and most of the supporting cast seemed to sleep through their scenes. The character development of Amanda Crew's character was done very well. Amanda Crew was able to play the "small town girl" role very well and you could tell that there was much more to the character than what was being portrayed. One thing that I felt hurt the movie was the set up of the situation. The set up felt like a bad slasher/horror movie, even though the movie was an drama/action movie. A lot of the "meaningful" bits of the story got lost in the abundance of ridiculous plot advancements that didn't really need to be there. By the time the ending rolls around, there is a nice "twist" but I felt that moment could have been executed much better and Amanda Crew's character should have reacted differently. Because of this, the movie becomes forgettable but I do hope that others see the potential that Amanda Crew has other than her time in Sex Drive and The Haunting in Connecticut. I do recommend the movie Crazy Kind of Love for those who like Amanda Crew. That is one of her best performances by far. Definitely not worth the rent.
