Audience Member From what my husband has explained to me about the game "Dungeons and Dragons", George Carlin is what we'd consider a chaotic neutral. Are you a chaotic neutral? Some might place this in the Liberturdian-category-gnosis, as chaos is frowned upon these days. Carlin has a very famous bit on Pride and my Dad and I argued about it. Apparently my Catholic Grandma emotionally slapped at me with the sin of my own Pride of musicianship when I was a child because it was a deadly sin to her, and yet there are certainly acceptable parades of all types in Pride except for THAT Pride. Freedom in a chaos means you don't get to celebrate your Pride if the baddies can't express their Pride as well. It's the balancing agent of psychology in chaos, I'm afraid, something I understand very well, which means I sit in the sports stadium parking lot of life observing the whole game, but have given up cheering on either side. I know I love my rainbows, but being One with chaos means the perceived baddies can parade all over as well. The fan clubs show up for each other with signs opposing everything they study so closely in Other, and fights and drama and everything that SO inspires One to find their pride in the first place becomes emboldened. George Carlin is very "Loki", so you have to ask yourself, do you understand the world of variants, yet? Or do you have to keep watching Disney to find out? Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member The best of Carlin's work, when he was perfectly bridging the gap between his older, wilder material and the later, somewhat bitter and cynical work. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Well, it's George Carlin so it had some redeeming value . . . but not much. It seems like this set was purposely different from his normal routine. Of all the Carlin sets I have seen, this is my least favorite. It was full of bland bits. Even the lead-in film noir bit with Vic Tayback was lame. I want to see all of Carlin's stuff, so it wasn't a waste of time, but if this is all I ever knew about him, I wouldn't think he was the genius he was. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member "I wonder if we might just have a moment of silence for the 43 elderly, mentally retarded, Bolivian, senior citizen, volleyball fans who lost their lives this morning in a roller coaster accident just outside of La Paz, Bolivia. Apparently they all stood up on a turn." Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Cocaine is a helluva drug. What's with all the retarded introes? My least favourite of Carlin's HBO specials. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Carlin turned a corner with this one. He's not quite in Prophet of Rage mode (which was always my favorite period of his), but his delivery and material are definitely moving in that direction. The bookending film noir parodies are nicely shot, but filler. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Read all reviews
