Sadly, Girl at the Window is not nearly creative enough to achieve a place in the genre’s top rank. Although it’s produced by the veteran Antony Ginnane, one of Ozploitation’s key figures... it’s so clunky that credibility becomes its first casualty. Go to Full Review

Anyone hoping that the script...will provide some rationale for the killing spree will be disappointed, as the perpetrator merely points out that there are bad people in the world, and they do bad things—like making a movie such as this. Go to Full Review

A suspenseful little thriller. Rhada Mitchell and Ella Newton make a believable mother daughter act. Go to Full Review

Rising above expectations while fitting perfectly into the Ozploitation bracket, Girl at the Window is certainly one to check out. Go to Full Review

While the cast basically holds their own in scenes ranging from the ludicrous to the under-motivated, it’s far from easy work to convince audiences to come along for the ride. Go to Full Review

The movie's odd mix of serious thriller and more comedic adventure does not mesh as well as intended. Plot twist midway through takes away all suspense as things become more confusing and silly than interesting. Go to Full Review

Chrisha B Mar 11 This is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I was actually mad that I watched it. The characters are all dumber than rocks and the story doesn't make sense. Painful. See more Julie H 08/05/2024 This is the worst movie I have ever seen. Bad acting, script, plot and casting. Vince Colosimo couldn't even save it. Don't waste your time..... See more Chiana S 06/03/2024 What a terrible movie. The daughter was extremely annoying and stupid that I wanted to punch her in the face so many times. And she made it worse, having her neighbor shot meant he was the only one who knew about the secret wall where the girl was kept. That poor man was innocent. The acting was bad and the killers death jolts were ridiculous. Wasted 90mins of my life I won't get back. See more David H 05/13/2024 This film must have been made on the cheap. The plot is paper thin. No explanation of why the killer is who he is, or why he carries out his specific type of mutilation. Pretty much no character development. Far too obvious as to what's going to happen. It could easily have been made by a group of high school kids. See more Locus P 05/07/2024 How did this get made? Who said yes to it? And once filming started, why didn't anyone step up and say, hey, this rubbish will be an embarrassment to the Australian film industry - let's quit it while we still can? And who thought it would be a good idea to show a torture scene of a young naked teenage girl having her eye sliced out with a knife - and then keep showing her naked in a cage all through the movie, with her gory missing eye and (somehow) continuously fresh blood all over her? It's like this movie was written and directed by teenage boys who've been rejected by girls and that's the only reason for the existence of this film. You have a teenage girl with bare boobs trapped in a cage. And the hunky teen boys who are getting all the sex get killed by the killer. The movie proceeds like a thriller, following the well-worn track of someone seeing something from a window and suspecting a crime has been committed. But towards the end, it completely changes tone and becomes a comedy. But not a good comedy. A very stupid one. The teenage girl who is the main character and her mother are portrayed as too dumb to live. Neither of them make any decisions that make sense. And the 'clockwork killer' doesn't ever seem to be a menacing presence in the town. The teen girl screams so much she makes your ears bleed. But then continually puts herself and others in extreme danger. It's hard to remark on the acting. You get the feeling they could all do much better in a better film that has good direction. See more Catherine O 03/30/2024 Quite possibly one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Numerous plot holes and very disjointed. Plot could have been amazing, but was poorly executed. Don't even bother watching. See more Read all reviews
