Jean-Claude (Gérard Depardieu) and Pierrot (Patrick Dewaere) are crooks. They're not experts, but they're competent enough to make their way through France by knocking over stores and lifting cars. They also have plenty of sexual conquests, including one with the young, attractive Marie-Ange (Miou-Miou), and the older ex-con, Jeanne (Jeanne Moreau). But the duo isn't simply suave; in addition to their crimes, they mistreat women without regret -- which could come back to haunt them.

Aender S One of Bertrand Blier's best. The chemistry between Gérard Depardieu, Patrick Dewaere and Miou-Miou is just marvellous, great French classic. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/11/24 Full Review martin f If it was provocative and amoral during its time, nowadays it is offensive and problematic. I took me a good part of the movie to finally pass how abusive the main protagonists are and how submissive the women around them are. It's a very crude look of sexuality during the 70s but the two main characters were never glorify for what they do and the film doesn't try to justify their action, they are just two assholes making troubles (even between them). It will make you deeply unconformable but it will make you laugh and ask you good questions about how to perceive sexuality. The assault and even rape a few women, feeling they are man's gift to women. The trouble goes on forever it seems as they move from city to city, making more enemies than friends. This is one of Gérard Depardieu and Isabelle Huppert's first films, not to mention the beautiful Miou-Miou. Nudity, blood, violence and pretty obscure stuff like breast sucking and sniffing up early teens panties are some ingredients, but in some way this film has true emotion and charm. It's well acted and it looks pretty nice. It does not lead to much, it's pretty repetitive - but the main characters to develop and that makes it interesting enough. Bertrand Bliers Les Valseuses gibts bei uns auf DVD mit englischen Untertiteln. Darüber hinaus findest du einen youtube stream, für den du dir noch die nötigen Untertitel organisieren müsstest. - Les Valseuses ist ein Film von rauhem Charme und ziemlich vielen Lachern. Berührt haben mich vor allem die Szenen mit Jeanne Moreau, die eine Frau verkörpert, welche gar nichts mehr vom Leben erwartet. Vor allem aber ist es ein äusserst kontroverses Werk, das eindeutig dem Zeitalter der Dekadenz zuzurechnen ist. In Frankreich sind das die 70er Jahre. Man sollte sich auch nichts vormachen, denn mit Sicherheit hat Bertrand Blier hier einen der frauenverachtendsten Filme aller Zeiten erschaffen! Der Frauenhass ist jederzeit spürbar und ziemlich abstossend. Hält der Film hier genügend Abstand zu seinen beiden "Helden" - verkörpert von Gerard Depardieu und Patrick Dewaere? Ich denke, die Frage ist falsch gestellt. Wir übernehmen radikal deren Perspektive und Les Valseuses schert sich weder um Moral, noch um sonstige Konventionen. Dafür gibts eine Reihe wirklich lauter Lacher! Hier kommen Jean-Claude und Pierrot (Depardieu und Dewaere): Zwei Flegel, brutal und immer ungewaschen. Sie durchqueren das Land in gestohlenen Wagen. Dabei terrorisieren sie ältere Damen, vergewaltigen junge Frauen oder verhauen diejenigen, deren Visage ihnen nicht passt. Ist es nun ihre Attitude, die uns abstösst? Oder ist es die Sichtweise des Films dazu? Blier führt uns ganz unbekümmert diese beiden Anti-Helden samt ihres ganzen Schwachsinns vor. Gewähnlich folgen ähnliche Filme einer ganz klaren Haltung - einer verurteilenden. Blier aber, urteilt überhaupt nicht. Es scheint so, als ob er sich den Beiden anschliesst. Er ist der Dritte im Bunde, der über die beiden Akteure laut lacht. Vielleicht sogar der Schlimmste von allen?! Blier gibt dem Treiben sogar seine ganz persönliche Note und die ist unangenehm und sadistisch. Ein Filmemacher, den man nie privat treffen möchte! Dafür spendiert er aber auch einen Swing, der selbst die widerlichste Handlung im Grunde ungeschehen macht. Die beiden Kleinganoven entführen eine tumbe Blondine (Miou-Miou) und benutzen sie als sexuellen Punching Bag. Auf ihrem Weg, rauben sie einen Doktor aus, der ihre Wunden versorgt oder terrorisieren eine Familie beim Picknicken. Die kleine Tochter (gespielt von der ganz jungen Isabelle Huppert) wird entjungfert und der Fürsorge ihrer Eltern entrissen. Als Running Gag versuchen beide, die Blondine zu befriedigen. Ganz gleich aber, wieviele Liegestütze sie auf ihr ausüben und wie aufreizend sie dabei mit dem Hintern nachschieben - die dämliche Blondine schaut gelangweilt zur Decke. Schliess tritt Jeanne Moreau auf. Gerade aus einer 10jährigen Haft entlassen, nimmt sie die Hilfe des Gangster-Duos an. Sie bieten der Dame Frühstück und Sex an. Moreau füllt diese Szenen mit der ihr eigenen Gnade, mit der ihr angeborenen Würde. Es sind die besten Momente in Les Valseuses! Bertrand Blier ist ein Bewunderer seiner beiden Helden. In einer Welt voller bürgerlicher Scheinheiligkeit, gesteht er ihnen den Status von Revolutionären zu. Nur sie leben authentisch! Tatsächlich sind es die Momente aus Schmerz und Demütigung, die echt sind. Alles andere ist nichts als Fassade, kleine Scherze in einer trostlosen Vision der Welt. Und die Lacher? Blier weiss, dass eine Komödie nicht zwingend warmherzig sein muss. Aliás, as suas semelhanças com "Jules et Jim" anulam qualquer margem de erro: "Les Valseuses" é um filme directamente inspirado pela nova vaga francesa e conduzido com uma ambiguidade que oscila entre a comédia e o drama sem nunca assentar num só género. A prioridade aqui passa por perseguir as aventuras de dois protagonistas famintos de experiências sexuais e constantemente destabilizados pela presença de uma mulher. A unir "Les Valseuses" e "Jules et Jim" há também a presença de uma Jeanne Moreau que é demasiado bonita para se preocupar com a fragilidade tão assumida do papel que lhe é oferecido. A mulher, em "Les Valseuses", acaba por ser o único elemento capaz de trazer alguma concentração e inteligência às digressões imbecis dos seus protagonistas (sendo que um deles levou um tiro de raspão no testículo esquerdo e isso deixa-o insuportável). No que toca ao (des)equilíbrio dos sexos no triângulo, a fórmula de Bertrand Blier não andará longe da que foi mais tarde reaproveitada em "Stranger than Paradise" ou "Y tu Mama Tambien". Mas, apesar de toda esta significância, "Les Valseuses" tem sobre si o peso dos filmes datados da década de 70 e um argumento gasto e escasso em rasgos de inspiração. Tem, além disso, a sombra de um machismo que - mesmo fazendo parte da crítica social - chega a ser puramente desagradável, gratuito e abusado.
