Based on Ken's acclaimed memoir of the same name, the film explores the spiritual and emotional journey of the Wilbers as they cope with Treya's illness and seek meaning and healing in their lives. The film is directed by Sebastian Siegel, who also wrote the screenplay and produced the film. Siegel shows a remarkable sensitivity and respect for the source material, as well as a keen eye for capturing the beauty and grace of nature, which plays a significant role in the film's aesthetics and symbolism. The film also features an original score by Alex Ebert, which adds to the emotional impact of the film. The film is anchored by the performances of Mena Suvari and Stuart Townsend, who play Treya and Ken respectively.
