Clayton Dillard Slant Magazine By initially focusing on Doc, who’s more receptive to Wyatt’s council here, the film winds up giving the men equal footing as protagonists, making this something closer to a buddy picture. Feb 26, 2024 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy A solid contribution to the Western genre, rarely soaring but always maintaining interest with its slow-and-steady approach to the story. Rated: 3/4 Mar 2, 2024 Full Review Moira Walsh America Magazine The picture runs too long but its cumulative tension and feeling for the period bespeak an out-of-the-ordinary Western; the gunfight of the title furnishes a stunningly staged climax. Jul 14, 2021 Full Review Yasser Medina Cinefilia A magnificent western. Nol P Just incredible cinematography for 1956 A very nice music score Stunning movie sets! The best of the Wyatt Earp saga of all movies about him I give to you Gunfight at the Ok Corral! A must have to own and watch on dvd! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/21/24 Full Review Laura B Wonderful western that has preserved, despite the years, all its epic components and a surprising dynamism in the action scenes. It has a solid script and exquisite acting. The Lancaster and Douglas duo remains unforgettable. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/24 Full Review Leaburn O One of the less engaging Westerns I've seen. Doc Holliday is portrayed as a nice, chummy, abusive protagonist in a toxic relationship with a whore. The build up to the big gunfight and even the fight itself are underwhelming. It's a slick produced piece with a few good scenes but generally feels a bit lacking. Recorded this one on Talking Pictures channel. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/08/23 Full Review Peter J Wow what a load of tosh. Burt Lancaster and Kirk Douglas both fans of the school of overacting really hammed up the screen every chance they got. I watched Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer play the same roles two days ago and damn they were so much more believable. By the way I was born in the Burt and Kirk era and really wanted to say to my Grandkids that Gunfight at the OK Coral was the superior film, that movie icons like Burt and Kirk, silver screen icons would be better, but alas I could not. Burt and Ernie could have done a better job. Well back to back True Grit tomorrow and I know which version I'm putting my money on. Adios Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/09/23 Full Review Kerry W Rating: 6/10. 64/100 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/28/23 Full Review Deke P Wow! check out about 10 big star names. +writer Leon Uris, + music Tiomkin, + costumes Edith Head, + great reviews. Did i see this on tv on Smallwood? Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/08/23 Full Review Read all reviews
