Dennis Harvey Variety "Halley" isn't particularly satisfying as a narrative or character study, and the profundity or blankness of its meaning is entirely up to the viewer. Jan 29, 2013 Full Review Duane Byrge Hollywood Reporter Compounding [its] bodily gross-outs, Hoffmann has drenched the film with accompanying tonal annoyances: insect buzzing, metal scrapings and human grunting. Jan 22, 2013 Full Review Ard Vijn ScreenAnarchy While there is a difference between boring, sedate and meditative, director Sebastián Hofmann definitely takes his chances here. The great make-up work and claustrophobic setting mostly managed to keep me interested, though. Jan 13, 2020 Full Review Nicholas Bell IONCINEMA.com Hauntingly surreal, and sometimes maddeningly oblique, it never fails to be consistently compelling. Aug 6, 2019 Full Review Deirdre Crimmins Film Thrills Halley is a film that seems to think it is much more clever than it is. Aug 21, 2018 Full Review Mark Adams Screen International Hofman treats Beto and his strange and disturbing condition with gentle respect. What he is going through is horrific, but the film never exploits his increasingly unpleasant physical condition. Jan 22, 2013 Full Review Read all reviews

Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Está super rara. Me gusto, este cine mexicano si es de mi gusto. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member The most depressing zombie movie ever. Very slow, very gloomy, very dark...I wanted some some doomy drone/noise to the soundtrack, which was very atmospheric and minimalist. Cinematography was A+, makeup also AA++, Halley was a decent character study, though not really much to take notes on except the how well done they created their world, the actor Alberto Trujillo WAS Beto the security guard 110%. Oh and this is the first Mexican film to shoot in the North Pole....though 99% of the film takes place in Mexico City. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Read all reviews
