Second-to-last Hellraiser movie and we are done with this franchise for good. What are we on? Oh, Judgement. So, this movie has a history and because of a fundraiser, Gary J. Tunnicliffe directed this movie to be the TRUE Hellraiser movie and I give him respect for directing this movie. It certainly feels like we're back with the formula as a Hellraiser movie with a little twist or two that's shown in the movie. Except there are some problems that are either bland or bad.
The story revolves around these two detectives. They are brothers Sean and David Carter, played by Damon Carney and Randy Wayne, who are working on a case of pursuing a serial killer called the Preceptor. The killer is known to kill anyone who violates the Ten Commandments. Basically like Se7en when the killer goes after anyone who is based on the Seven Deadly Sins. They are joined by another detective named Christine Egerton, played by Alexandra Harris, who is also in pursuit of the Preceptor. Apparently, she wasn't supposed to be in the original yet the studio suggested her to foil the brothers' plan.
Meanwhile, Pinhead, now played by Paul T. Taylor, who is looking for a way to bring in more souls in Hell. I will give this movie credit that they have given Pinhead a role of a leader as it's now like a courtroom. When a human is judged, the Auditor, played by the director himself, uses their blood like ink to fill in the pages via an old-fashioned typewriter until it is all filed out into a stack. Afterwards, a fat guy would come in to eat the whole stack of paper and pukes it out over a sink so the bile goes into this room where three topless women who have scarred faces dip their hands into the bile that's in this pig feeder. After they dipped their fingers, they would claim them guilty or not guilty. If they are guilty, the defendant would get skinned alive, or even worse. Then the ladies would do some things and they would get a bath from their blood. Yeah, it's pretty gross and I apologize for y'all to imagine what I've typed here. I've seen plenty of SAW films and other sorts of gross topics. But at the least, they made this movie more fitting as what Hellraiser was early in the franchise.
The story though, is decent at times, yet I have to say, the reveal of the killer was kinda lame. To make matters worse, God, yes, there is a God along with this angel named Jophiel, played by Helena Grace Donald, demands Pinhead to let the killer go. I won't reveal who the killer is, by the way. I will say that it's a bad reveal. Although their banter was fun like any demon and angel would banter, at most. I also give them credit that they would add God and angels into the Hellraiser universe. Because why not? Aside from the gross parts, the effects are still good for what they are. That tearaway face really was something, I'll be honest. The designs are nice with the make-up, too. I'll give Paul T. Taylor credit for playing a better Pinhead to fill in Doug Bradley's shoes.
The acting is decent at best, especially for how decently paced this movie goes from finding the killer to discovering the killer. It's just that we don't know these three detectives that much since their only goal is to find the Preceptor. Even to see the Lament Configuration that Pinhead offered so he would get sucked in and for some reason, he is the most vile. Again, why would God and his angel demand Pinhead to let the killer go? I'm at a loss. Thankfully, he didn't stick around for too long before the credits roll. Also, there is another ending to it before the credits roll and it is just weird. Speaking of which, there is a post-credit scene. It's better than the ones that I found being less favorable. However, it is still bad. The ranking of the Hellraiser movies is gonna be interesting as soon as I get done with this franchise.
It just tries to be Se7en and Zodiac, yet not close enough when it tries a little too hard. But I digress. For Judgement, I'm gonna give it four Auditor typewriting someone's list of sins out of ten. 4/10. Okay. One more and we are done with this franchise. I'll see y'all there.

This is a prime example of the writer and director idolize a director, but has no clue as to how write or direct like their idol.
David Fincher is one of my favorite artists in Hollywood, and this movie basically a terrible fake knockoff.
I do have to pose one question… How many times did Tunnicliffe, the writer and director, watched Se7en prior to making this movie?
I do not like to bash on people, it’s counter productive and generally mad manners. But, this movie had incredible potential, and was not even remotely close to living up to it.

This is an interesting and engaging opening, it really caught my attention, very different to the previous films but not hugely out of character or too different. I liked the new character The Auditor, sadly the rest is the characters are fairly dull and forgettable. Most of the acting is good enough, Helena Grace Donald is bad, the rest are probably just below average. I hated the shaky camera, it was so out of place, especially in one scene. Also it looked too bright and clean giving it an unreal gloss. Some shots were sped up and that looked bad. After the interesting ideas of the opening it became a Se7en (1995) clone. It's a mess of incoherent and underdeveloped and unoriginal ideas in the middle. The pace isn't bad, I didn't get bored much. The finale is pretty goofy filled with too much exposition. Some of the visual effects and some of the practical effects are good, some look awful like the gunshots. It's worth watching if you've seen the first five but it suffers from some poor decisions and not enough resources.
