Brian Shaer Film Threat Here On Out offers emotional truth and subtle surprises in a movie designed to make you think it's your usual dead teenager film. The fact that it plays so successfully with that model is a gratifying surprise all its own. Rated: 9/10 Mar 12, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews

Vera A Basic boring plot Childhood friends get together at a remote family owned cabin, get drunk, go for a hike, 2 of the girls pulls prank on friends, the weird you just know deep down he's a creepy neighbor wants to be forever friends with them all! To many stupid plots that didn't even fill in the blanks to the point I can't even rate it as a B Movie! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Sheila B This is the perfect movie to see how a show can be slow moving and extremely anti-climatic. Acting was okay, settings lovely and the plot great. But none of that translated onto the screen. In the first 15 minutes we knew who had taken the girl. This could be a great movie had they ramped up the suspense and left out all the bickering amongst the characters. And the tropes were sad. Making the black guy look gangster and act like he had a chip on his shoulder and would amount to nothing, the couple hoping to hook up when one is leaving soon, and the pretty girl is the smart one while the only girl left is the least attractive and has to go out of the country for job opportunities. And really the one thing we all collectively agreed upon was that this could have been an awesome movie. The pics online for it show the pretty girl with blood on her face, but that scene is nowhere in the film. With the elements I mentioned above being there, one can only assume that the director and editing department were clueless about making a scary or thrilling or horror movie. Seriously, my kids in grade school would find this not frightening or suspenseful or even entertaining enough to make them want to see it to the end. Whoever made this as the final product really let down all the actors, the crew and anyone else who contributed time and money to this film. You don't need gore, but you do need something more than Charlie Brown scares. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/13/22 Full Review Audience Member First, "Francis" is a boy's name. The name they're aiming for is Frances. Second, why did they saddle "T-Unit" with that microaggressive method of speech. Amazing moment when T-Unit opens up the hood of the only vehicle and discovers "someone took the car batteries. All of them." Why does a car always get multiple batteries when they can all be stolen at once?! Kids these days really have no respect for Grandma's knick-knacks. Can't believe they actually BURNED her little statue. An element of mystery is introduced when a cigarette sets off the smoke detector - which also causes all the lights in the house to flash in sync with the alarm. Why does the bad guy die in the end? Boring. Music was okay. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Read all reviews
