vicenç p Melodramatic but well directed and well shot. It deserved a much larger distribution and attention. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member The storyline is not always connected immaculately, for example a young girl dies on the beach earlier in the movie, and I suppose this is a connection to later events in some way. But honestly, the core of the movie is fairly solid: a person who discovers something about himself, a peer (Leonard) who may have had a similar devastating event happen in his own life as a preface (it is alluded that Leonard caused his former partner's death, but the vagueness leaves one's imagination to believe he had a gay affair that likewise caused his partner their end). The reason why I think this film is a good one is because it explores what a lot of films are afraid of: coming to terms with one's self later in life, the fact that love and lust can break age boundaries (which is often difficult to speak about in today's political climate), and often it can happen in situations that are unorthodox (a happily married couple gets split into). Yes, the movie has cheesy moments (starting with a stereotypical Opera, or the fact it plays on Italian stereotypes fairly hard). But it has a good underlying message, and it explores topics that other films haven't always explored well. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member I have thought of this kind of plot it is fatalistic a twist between Pasolini's Theorema and Visconti's death in venice - to me eye Thyago Alves is uncanny in resembling an older more Italian tazio. but the film as a whole is fault to try to work in the Tristan-iseolt leitmotif into modern day Italy may be defying what homophobia there is but it does not ring so serious as the ending presents - maybe passion does play out in violence it must have a believable cause for such a movie - a closet gay shrink?! and is there also imply an incestuous relationship that's very medertranean ! By far the best happiness scene is the motorbike with David & matteo. I loved it. the sex-death scene could have been handled subtly to say the least. would like to see the sex separately without the cut in which are meaningless unless it is trying to make gays guilty. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member This was amazing.European cinema really knows its stuff. It was so good, the plot was so good, the actors were all wonderfu..We could see the main protagonist's struggle,we could feel it,I sympathised, and I swear Poggio's performance really managed to movie. The direction was beautiful, and enhanced by the wonderful Italian scenery.Everything till the last 10 minutes was just amazing. We could feel Matteo's struggle, his longing for the object of his affection, and his fight with feeling of forbidden love. And then comes tre last act,the finale, and blows it all way, ruining almost everything that this movie had built so far.I knew it's gonna end in drama, but this ending was unecessary to say the least! In my mind I choose to forget the ending, just so that I can give this movie the rating that it deserves, leaving aside any personal unsatisfaction. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member I could not find anything about this movie that was original or that set it apart from many, many others before it Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Overall great film with an ending that will leave you holding your breath. What a story line filled with a drop breaking ending! Diego (Alessandro Gassman) delivered an amazing performance along side with Shary (Michela Cescon) character which they both delivered pure excellent relationship marriage chaos. For me every story was interesting especially between Matteo and David. The film brings mystery and surprise leaving you breathless with a twist you don't see coming.
